Buying Question |
Solution/Response |
|
“Why do you say that MCTrunking will save me money on my
phone bill?” |
“MCTrunking will help you achieve savings on your
communications bill in three ways: 1) You will be able to
cease paying for a monthly PRI trunk to your local phone
company, using your data pipe instead for voice
communications; 2) A portion of your current intra-LATA and
toll calls will be considered local calls, which will be free;
and 3) Your phone services provider is now an Enhanced
Services Provider, which means that you are not subject to the
taxes on traditional telephony.” |
|
“Is this process easy, or do I have to purchase a lot of
equipment first before I get started?” |
“Your only equipment outlay may be for an intermediary
gateway, which you can choose from our list of
approved
devices.” |
|
“Will I have to change my business phone number or extensions
or wait forever to have them ported over to your network?”
|
“No, for your convenience, you may be
able to keep your current business phone numbers by porting
them over to our network. ” |
|
“What do you mean when you say I only have to purchase the
bandwidth that I need?” |
“In the past, you’ve always had to purchase a PRI worth of
bandwidth, or a group of 23 DS-0s, even if you did not need
all of it. With our new MCTrunking product, you can purchase
as few as 1 DS-0, which allows you to match your bandwidth
needs more closely to your business’ actual communications
usage.” |
|
“Do my employees need to learn to use different handsets or
features?” |
“No, with MCTrunking , which is a first step on the migration
path to full VoIP, we are only replacing the pipe to your
local phone company. Everything else stays the same, including
your current PBX, your current handsets, and phone features
and services.” |
|
“How would I make sure that taking this step does not limit my
options in the future?” |
“Because we are only replacing your PBX trunk with
MCTrunking, you are still able to use your existing equipment. Once your
investment is fully depreciated, however, you could decide to
invest additional capital in upgrading or replacing your
existing PBX system, or to change over to an
all-operating-cost model in which you purchase hosted VoIP
services from us. Therefore, MCTrunking does not curtail your
options; it actually gives you the additional option of
pursuing the ‘cap-and-grow’ strategy in the future.” |
|
“Everyone always says they have a great network for VoIP
services. But why should I care about the network that
underpins these services?” |
“You should care about the quality of the network underlying
your VoIP phone service because your employees need to make
and receive exceptional-quality phone calls in order to
transact business. Only networks that are engineered to
minimize jitter and packet loss while maximizing call
completion rates and quality are suitable for carrying your
voice calls. The Mconnect IP network has a MOS score of
above 4.0, which is as good as or better than toll-quality.”

|
“Can I get phone numbers anywhere I want, i.e., suppose I want
a local phone number for my customers in a different state.
Can you assign me one of those as part of this MCTrunking
product?” |
“Yes, we can assign you a phone number (DID) in any geographic
location in which we currently have network coverage. You will be able to
facilitate local dialing for clients in different calling
areas than your primary business, which is a benefit that your
incumbent phone company cannot provide.” |
|
“Can I still get POTS lines or Business seats along with
this MCTrunking service?” |
“Of course. Your decision on the trunking product is
completely independent of your decision to purchase any of our
other hosted VoIP seats or other products. You may get a
combination of any of our suite of IP network solutions – it
just depends upon what your business needs are.” |
